We are a community-based non-profit agency that has been serving the youth and communities of Western MA since 1977. We provide a wide array of services that foster youth empowerment and community service. Over the course of the last four decades, more than 40,000 area youth have been served by the agency in Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden Counties and the North Quabbin region.

Welcome to the Penikese Island School! We are starting a new substance abuse treatment program. For young men, 18 and older, in a collaboration with McLean Hospital. We are confident that the magic of Penikese Island, in concert with talented staff, will foster a nature-based therapeutic community that delivers a uniquely effective residential treatment program. In its early years, Penikese worked with court-involved teenage boys as an alternative to more restrictive and punitive environments.
